Republic Day Celebrations 

26 January 1950 is one of the most important days in Indian history as it was on this day the constitution of India came into force and India became a truly sovereign state. On this day India became a totally republican unit as 26th January has been recognized and celebrated as the Republic Day of India, ever since. Cairn India celebrated this day with great gusto across the 6 districts of the BSPL (Barmer Salaya Pipeline) and in SBPL (Salaya Bhagat Pipeline) section. The spirit of celebration and elation was evident in the enthusiastic live performances that included various cultural programmes and performances by the children. The events witnessed a large gathering of community members, Panchayat representatives, and local Government officials. The cultural programme and sports activities were followed by a prize distribution ceremony where Cairn took the onus of presenting mementos and gifts to encourage the children and boosted their morale. Event locations: Sapda – Jamnagar, Mithoi – Lalpur block – Jamnagar, Setalus – Lalpur block – Jamnagar, Pipalia – Wankaner block – Rajkot, Polanski – (AGI 25) – Rajkot, Pratapgarh – (AGI 26), Vani – Viramgam – Ahmedabad, and Vadgaas - Viramgam – Ahmedabad. 3200 villagers and rural students from these districts participated and attended in the event celebrations. In addition to this, at Khambaliya the Indian National Flag was hoisted by Shri Vasanbhai Ahir, Minister of state, Government of Gujarat along with the Jamnagar District Magistrate Sri. Sandeep Kumar and SP, Jamnagar, Shri. Subhash Trivedi, District development officer Mr. Ajay Kumar. After the flag hoisting, the police battalions demonstrated their strength while 25,000 community members and guests sat as spectators. Over 100 schools attended the event and participated in sports activities. Cairn India CSR initiatives like The Mobile Health Van and Science on Wheels Van were demonstrated at the event location
