Railways to Restart Passenger Services: Passenger trains will run from Tuesday, Railways announced; Tickets will be available only at Irctc.co.in

Indian Railways has announced the launch of Passenger Train from Tuesday.  On Sunday, the Railways said that the passenger train service will be launched in phases from May 12.  The train will leave New Delhi station only on May 12.  A total of 15 pairs of trains will be run.  Although tickets will not match at the station.  Tickets must be booked online through the IRCTC (irctic.co.in) website

According to a railway notification, Indian Railways will gradually decide to run trains on other routes.  However, this will be seen after reserving 20,000 coaches for Corona Care Centers and a sufficient number of coaches for 300 'Workers Special' trains per day.

Bookings for reservations on these trains will begin at 4pm on May 11 and will only be available on the IRCTC website (https://www.irctc.co.in/), Rail said.  Ticket booking counters at railway stations will be closed and no counter tickets (including platform tickets) will be issued.  Only passengers with valid confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the railway station.  Covering and screening is mandatory for passengers.  Only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the train.  More details including train schedule will be informed later.
